Neelima, meaning "blue," is a contemporary cotton kurta set with an easy, flowing shape. The hand printed kurta features an indigo Shibori-inspired pattern on a soft grey-blue base, paired with plain cotton pants for a look that feels elegant, modern and rooted in Indian textile traditions.
The print takes its cue from Shibori, the resist-dyeing technique known for its folded, radiating patterns. Here, that look is recreated by hand printing, with indigo starburst motifs spread across the kurta in a repeating web. Each piece carries the slight variations of handwork, giving it a handcrafted character that machine prints can't match.
The kurta has a round neck, a buttoned front placket and a dramatic high-low hem that dips at the back and sides. Bell sleeves with a gathered flare add softness and movement. Made in cotton, the set is paired with plain light grey cotton pants in a cropped, straight cut.
